Banking – Our clientele includes many global financial holding institutions engaged in both consumer and commercial lending. Automotive – Miller Canfield is a recognized expert in providing legal services to the automotive industry, including both manufacturers and distributors, as well as to manufacturers of automotive spare parts and dealership networks. Most recently we have advised automotive manufactures on the implications of the Automotive Block Exemption. We litigate cases involving warranty claims, product liability, claims based upon the non-conformity of contracted goods and hazardous material liability, including judicial and administrative proceedings. We draft distribution and service financing agreements (including the purchase of vehicles and spare parts), in addition to cross-border delivery and logistic agreements. And we are expert in analyzing a dealership’s business practices to ensure conformity with local anti-monopoly, personal data and environmental regulations.

Telecommunications, Media & Advertising – We provide legal services to companies operating in Poland engaged in mobile telecommunications and trans-national terrestrial broadcasting. We provide legal advice on the introduction of new telecommunications devices and equipment on the market, in particular mobile telephones, in addition to the development of technical and functional solutions for telecommunications networks (including mobile telecommunications). We advise on the development of distribution networks and certification of goods. We have vast experience in the intricacies of administrative and competition law affecting the telecommunications industry in Poland, including the introduction of new technologies and telecommunications services and their protection under intellectual property law. Finally, we have extensive experience in legal issues affecting advertising, unfair competition, lotteries, loyalty programs and joint promotion undertakings.

Pharmaceuticals – We provide advice to companies engaged in the manufacture and distribution of pharmaceuticals in Poland. In addition to structuring agreements and solutions in response to regulations specific to the drug industry, Miller Canfield also utilizes proven solutions borrowed from other business sectors, relying on knowledge acquired previously while providing legal services to the distribution networks and marketing departments of our clients.

Shipbuilding and Shipping – In addition to providing legal services to international ferry service operators, our clients include ship owners and the suppliers to the maritime industry. We specialize in preparing and providing opinions on international shipbuilding contracts and supply agreements. Our experience includes a broad range of legal services to the shipbuilding industry, including the drafting and negotiation of construction financing agreements. Our expertise extends to the representation of both ship owners and lessees in judicial hearings involving the arrest of sea vessels and registration matters.
